Privacy policy
This policy explains what [Legal entity name] (“InQuant”, “we”) collects when you use InQuant Journal at inquant.app, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Questions go to support@inquant.app.
What we collect
Free Inquest (no account)
- Your CSV is read and analyzed in your browser. The trades are not sent to us.
- If you unlock the full Inquest, we store your email, whether you opted in to product updates, and a summary of the Inquest (headline numbers, what works and what hurts, and a few plain facts such as median hold times and fee totals). The summary contains no individual trades.
- To keep the free Inquest to one per trader, we store an anonymous fingerprint of the trades it covered: 128 numbers derived from them, from which the trades can’t be rebuilt.
Accounts
- Email address, used to sign in with a one-time link.
- Trades you save: instrument, direction, open and close times, size, prices, P&L, fees and funding.
- Journal entries you add: setups, tags and notes on trades; daily mood and focus check-ins; rules you write.
- Results we compute from your trades, and InQuant Coach recaps and follow-up questions.
- Billing records: your plan and subscription status, and the Stripe customer ID that links them. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
Support emails
When you email support@inquant.app, we forward it to our support inbox and log the sender, subject and time so no request gets lost. We don’t store the message itself outside that inbox.
Exchange connections
When you connect a read-only exchange API key, it is used once, on our server, to fetch your trade history. It is not stored or logged.
In your browser
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. We use your browser’s local storage for your time zone, your prop-rule settings and whether this browser has used its free Inquest. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To run the service: analyze your trades, show your results, flag trades against rules you wrote, and write InQuant Coach recaps.
- To email you your free Inquest, sign-in links and account or billing notices.
- To send product updates, only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time with the unsubscribe link in any InQuant email.
- To enforce plan limits and the one-free-Inquest limit, and to keep the service secure.
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t use your trades for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We use these service providers. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. They store or process data in the United States and other countries outside Canada, where it may be accessible to local authorities under those countries’ laws.
| Provider | What for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, server functions | Your account data listed above |
| Vercel | Website hosting | Requests to the site, including IP address |
| Stripe | Payments and subscriptions | Your email, payment details and billing address |
| Cloudflare | Domain, and receiving mail sent to inquant.app | Emails you send us, including your address and the message |
| Resend | Email delivery | Your email address and the email’s contents |
| Anthropic | Currently powers our AI solution, InQuant Coach (Pro and Prop) | Computed statistics, instrument symbols, the date range and time zone, your setup and tag labels, rules you wrote, and any follow-up question you type. Never your name, email, account name, individual trades or notes. |
| Your exchange | Fetching your trades, if you connect a key | The read-only key you provide |
Anything you type into a Coach follow-up question is sent to Anthropic, so please don’t include personal details there.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete it or ask us to delete your account.
- Free Inquest emails, summaries and fingerprints: [retention period].
- Billing records: as long as the law requires us to keep them.
- Support email logs: as long as we need them to handle your request.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent to product emails, by writing to support@inquant.app. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Each account’s data is readable only by its own login, enforced in the database. No system is perfectly secure; we’ll tell you promptly if a breach puts your information at real risk.
Age
InQuant is for people 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email. See also our terms of service.
